Volunteering with BHN gives you the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of people seeking safety in the UK, and to give something back to our thriving Bristolian community.
We rely on volunteers to run our weekly Welcome Centre drop-in sessions and other events throughout the year. We're always on the look out for ESOL teachers, advocacy advisors, kitchen workers, artists and art workshop leaders, networkers, and fundraisers (especially those with links to places of worship, businesses, and other charities) - plus lots of general helpers!
We're also often in need of more Trustees for the network. For more specific roles we're looking to fill, please keep an eye on our regularly updated News page.
If you would like to help BHN but are unable to make a volunteering commitment, please see Other Ways to Give.
If you'd like to discuss volunteering with BHN please contact us - we'd be so grateful to have you!
Please find our Safeguarding Policy here.
'With BHN I chat with asylum seekers on a weekly basis. This means talking with people that are experiencing destitution. However, it’s very important to keep in mind that you are talking with a human being. During our meeting we always agreed that equality is one of the most important ethos of BHN-
people are people before labels.'
