Men's House

As part of our accommodation provision, we have an 11-bed house for male asylum seekers in East Bristol. The house is a welcoming space, and we work very hard to make sure our members feel comfortable and engaged as part of our community.

The day-to-day running of the house is managed by our hosts, who look after the administration of the house and report any maintenance issues so that we can deal with them promptly.

We are always looking for people to volunteer and provide support to our members and hosts. We hold weekly dinners on Tuesday evenings, where we catch up with the needs of the house and make sure we are providing a welcoming environment for our members.

The team is responsible for making sure any issues raised at these meetings are dealt with in a positive way, whether they're budgeting issues, personal conflicts, or relate to the specific needs of our members and hosts. A role within the team would suit a person with some experience of working in intercultural or refugee settings, although we can provide training and support as part of the role, particularly around narrative conflict resolution.

If you are interested in joining our team, we would love to invite you to one of our Tuesday dinners and get to know our members, hosts and team. Please contact us on graham@bhn.org.uk for further information and details.
