Resident Support Worker (x 2)
We’re looking for two warm, thoughtful and practical people to join our team as Resident Support Workers.
Hours: 18.5 hours (2.5 days) per week, per post*
Salary: £29,064 pro rata (actual salary £14,532), NJC scale 5 point 13
Contract: Fixed term for 2.5 years, with potential to extend subject to funding
Location: Bristol
*(Post 1 will work Monday-Wednesday. Post 2 will work Wednesday - Friday. If you have a preference, please include your preferred schedule in your application form)

Job Purpose
As a Resident Support Worker, you will support people living in our Bristol City Council-funded shared house provision who are experiencing homelessness as a result of unresolved migration or asylum status. Rooted in our values of welcome, community and solidarity, the role will involve building trusting relationships with residents, providing practical and emotional support, helping people navigate services and local opportunities, and contributing to a safe and welcoming shared home.
Resident Support Workers will work with one another and the wider BHN team to help guests settle into the house, and provide support with appointments, services, ESOL, activities and opportunities in the local community. Ideal candidates will be respectful, warm, and boundaried in their approach to people, and be able to respond to residents’ individual needs to support them to make informed choices about their future.
We welcome applications from people with lived experience of homelessness, migration and the asylum system. Applicants who speak additional languages to English are encouraged.
Relevant work experience is welcome but not essential – we value your principles, willingness to learn and ability to build trusting relationships.
