Would you like to volunteer for BHN?

Would you like to volunteer alongside people seeking asylum from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Ethiopia and Somalia?

BHN is looking for volunteers to join a small, dedicated team supporting our men's house in Fishponds.

You would need to be available on Tuesday evenings from 6-9pm (minimum fortnightly). We have a busy, noisy, fun evening of socialising, household tasks, cooking and sharing a meal together. Volunteers offer task supervision, admin, pastoral care, mediation, socialising.

We offer training to cover: the Home office and asylum system, mental health in the asylum sector, mediation skills.

There are opportunities to join the house members on day trips and holidays, we are currently recruiting a BHN football team!

We love people who can roll their sleeves up and join in.

We welcome volunteers with ideas for engaging members who like to practice their English, play board games, watch football, and listen to music.

If you would like to join the team or would just like more info please get in touch with us:

volunteers@bhn.org.uk or call Graham for a chat: 07879 474917.
