Bike Rides

One of the many ways of having fun in BHN are the regular bike rides on Saturdays. These enable people to meet together and see new places. Over two days one weekend early in October 2011 we embarked on a more ambitious venture.

Around 15 members of the Network cycled 97 miles along the Avon Cycle Way, with an overnight camping stop in two of the hosts’ garden and a delicious meal provided by some of the excellent cooks at the Welcome House. Together we raised money for the Destitution Fund.

A lot of fun was had along the way and our dedicated support crew who filled us with hot tea and food every 12 miles or so made it possible. At the end of the second day all of the slightly tired cyclists were welcomed for food and celebration at the Welcome House.
