Make friends and keep fit with BHN's walking group

Bristol Hospitality Network are encouraging people to pull on their hiking shoes and enjoy fresh air and scenic views with the Walking and Talking Group.

People of all ages are welcome to join the walks, which take place on the last Sunday of every month, meeting outside Easton Christian Family Centre, Beaufort Street, Bristol.

Glyn Morgan, who helps to run the group, says the group is very friendly and is happy to accommodate requests for organised walks from people of all abilities, from short walks in the park to more adventurous mountain hikes.

The group often uses public transport to reach starting points for walks, which take advantage of scenic routes and sights in and around Bristol.

Recent destinations have included Snuff Mills and the Suspension Bridge in Clifton.

“Many people don’t have the opportunity to go anywhere outside of Bristol,” Glyn said. “We want to take them out of the urban environment and introduce them to the countryside and other new places they might not have seen before.”

The next walk will take in a visit to City Farm in St Werburgh’s, Bristol, and is suitable for children and families. It will take place on Sunday 30 June, meeting outside Easton Christian Family Centre at 10.20am. Please bring water and picnic food to share.
