Do you want to work alongside refugees and asylum seekers to help make Bristol a place of sanctuary?
If the answer is yes, then we need you!
Bristol Hospitality Network (BHN) is looking for dedicated people to join our board of Trustees. BHN extends solidarity to people seeking asylum and experiencing destitution. We provide full board accommodation in a network of host households or in our hostel for men in Bristol.
We also aim to support people who are destitute asylum seekers by offering a sense of community, with practical support and volunteering opportunities.
Over the last 10 years we have become a vibrant community of people from many nations. You can read more about our values and work at www.bhn.org.uk
We currently have a number of vacancies on our volunteer Board of Trustees. This group is responsible for overseeing the work of BHN as a charity, to ensure that it is delivering its objectives.
BHN is looking for three new Trustees with a broad range of skills. We are specifically looking for someone with direct experience of the asylum and refugee system as well as a Trustee with property and housing related experience.
How to Apply:
Do read through the Person Specification attached here and if you are interested, get in contact with our Chair of Trustees Steve Watters for an informal chat about the role at (firstname.lastname@example.org). The next stage would then be to fill out the application form attached here.
The Trustees meet every six weeks in Bristol (7-9pm). This role is unpaid, but very rewarding. We look forward to hearing from you!
CLOSING DATE: Friday 28th February - 17:00
Interview Date: Monday 23rd March 2020
If recruited, you will be attending your first Trustee's meeting on Wednesday 13th May
