Ukraine emergency: advice and information
As a network of organisations that works to end destitution for people in the asylum and immigration system, NACCOM stands with the people of Ukraine and with anyone who is left with no choice but to seek refuge in another country. We all deserve the chance to live in safety and dignity, regardless of our immigration status.
Statement from NACCOM, The No Accommodation Network, of which BHN is part.

If you are Ukrainian and seeking advice and support:
-
The Ukraine advice project is a group of volunteer legal professionals with immigration and asylum expertise. They are providing a free service connecting Ukrainian citizens (and others fleeing Ukraine), in need of free legal advice on UK immigration/visas/asylum, with qualified and regulated lawyers: https://advice-ukraine.co.uk/
-
Ukrainians seeking immigration advice can email ukraine@freemovement.org.uk. This dedicated email address aims to match Ukrainians seeking immigration advice with suitably qualified volunteer immigration practitioners.
-
The Immigration Advice Service has information here, including the offer of free advice sessions: https://iasservices.org.uk/visa-concessions-for-ukrainians-in-the-uk/

If you are a UK citizen looking to help:
-
If you are considering hosting a Ukrainian individual or family, you can register your interest in the official scheme run by the UK Home Office, called Homes for Ukraine: https://homesforukraine.campaign.gov.uk/
-
Please consider making a donation to a trusted organisation delivering emergency relief efforts. For example you can donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee's (DEC) emergency appeal here: https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal.
-
At present you can also make a donation to DEC via the Big Give that will be matched: https://donate.thebiggive.org.uk/campaign/a056900002G9bXgAAJ
-
Please do NOT send items such as nappies and clothes, but instead send money. However small your donation, it will be used in the best way. Sorting thousands of items causes a huge amount of work for people who are trying to meet urgent medical and safety needs in very difficult conditions, and is likely to obstruct these efforts. Large agencies like the DEC can make best use of resources by buying exactly what is needed, locally and efficiently.
-
To support newly arrived Ukrainian refugees in Bristol with clothes and household items, please donate via our partners at Aid Box Community (check their website for up to date requirements)
-
Sign The Refugee Council petition calling on the Government to create more safe routes to the UK for refugees and people seeking asylum: https://act.refugeecouncil.org.uk/campaign/create-safe-routes-refugees-and-save-lives

Below we list some other organisations and relief efforts you may consider supporting. Many thanks for your generosity and efforts at this time. Even the smallest donation helps.
